How to solve Windows 10 error “Another installation is already in progress”

“Another installation is already in progress. Complete that installation before before proceeding with this install”

If you get this error when trying to run a .msi installer, kill the “Windows Installer” background process through the Task Manager.

1. Press CTRL + ALT + DEL and choose Task Manager.
2. If the “Background processes” tab isn’t expanded, click “More details” in the bottom left corner.
3. Scroll down and find “Windows Installer” under background processes.
4. Click “End task.”

Then run your program’s installer again.
